Community Impact Discovery

Project Overview

During this project, the Rizer will research and identify top organizations that have the biggest impact on a specific city. Organizations should be focused on supporting the people of the community through innovation, education, and growth and development opportunities.

The Rizer will conduct research through interviews, social media, and other avenues to develop and refine a list of potential options. The Rizer will present a finalized list of five to eight organizations with the highest potential impact, a brief description, and reasoning why Microsoft should engage with that specific organization.

Rizer should be located in or have “home-town” connections to one of the below cities in order to apply. Please specify which city in your application! Applications are rolling so apply as soon as possible.

  • Philadelphia
  • Detroit
  • Cincinnati
  • Atlanta
  • Baltimore
  • New York City
  • Charlotte
  • San Francisco
  • Miami
  • Indianapolis
  • Louisville

Ideal Student

The ideal Rizer is a community-oriented individual and is passionate about expanding opportunities and resources to others! The Rizer is detail-oriented, meticulous, and patient with their research. A Rizer with a technical background that can provide insight into specific organizations that drive technical skilling is a bonus.

The Rizer will provide the Microsoft Project Manager with a clear and organized list of 5-8 organizations that they recommend Microsoft consider working with. The list should include a brief description of the organization, how they are impacting the community, and why Microsoft should work with the organization. The Rizer will develop their research and engagement skills in order to understand where best Microsoft could impact their community. The Rizer will get the opportunity to work with local Microsoft offices and employees to help increase community engagement!
